The castle of Tabiano was built in the 11th century on an old Roman position dominating the area.

It was the stronghold of powerful Pallavicino family, which dominated this strategic area during the centuries of struggles between the Imperial and the Vatican forces. Tabiano castle has been at the centre of historical events to preside over the rich salt wells and olive trees as well as the old pilgrim road to Rome Via Francigena.

Now the medieval castle village has been transformed into a Relais de Charme offering exclusive living, relaxation and romance.

Located in the hills above Parma, Tabiano Castello is situated in the hearth of the gastronomic centre of Italy.

This is the home of the world-famous Parmesan cheese and the Parma ham. The area has also been known since ancient times for its natural spas. Both in Tabiano Bagni and in nearby Salsomaggiore there are renowned spa facilities.
